Mark founded Hyland Financial Strategies in 2000. Previously, Mark gained vast experience in his role as Executive Director for the James Graham Brown Foundation, one of Kentucky’s oldest and largest charitable foundations. Mark received his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisville in 1980 and an MBA degree from Bellarmine University in 1990.

Mark has built Hyland Financial Strategies by establishing strong relationships based on the values of trust, honesty, and integrity. He believes that successful financial planning is a process that requires an ongoing open dialogue with the clients he serves. Identifying individual goals, objectives, and the dreams of each client is the key to long term financial success.

Hyland Financial Strategies differentiates itself from other financial advisors in that it offers a “pre-arranged advisor fee” as opposed to being compensated by commissions for products sold to the client. This insures that the financial advisor will take a broad look at both the accumulation and protection of wealth for each client utilizing the most appropriate and efficient financial products and platforms.

Hyland Financial Strategies is aligned with one of the industry’s leading broker-dealers, Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. Cambridge, which has been trademarked as The Fee Experts, has long been recognized as one of the top “fee broker-dealers” in the investment industry. They have received the industry’s “Broker/Dealer of the Year” award on numerous occasions.

Biz PicTanner Hyland

Tanner serves as the Vice President for Hyland Financial Strategies. He graduated from Trinity High School here in Louisville and then went on to obtain his B.A. in Marketing from the University of Louisville in December 2012.  Prior to joining Hyland Financial Strategies in June of 2014, he worked at a corrugated packaging company as a customer service representative. In his new role, Tanner’s responsibilities include marketing and networking, 401(k) and individual client account management, and other various day-to-day operational duties. He currently holds his Kentucky Life Insurance License, his General Securities License (Series 7), Uniform Combined State Law License (series 66), and is NSSA certified as a National Social Security Advisor. Away from business, Tanner enjoys spending time with his family and friends, golfing, and cheering on the Louisville Cardinals.
